This is a key role in the Enterprise Architecture team, providing an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience of network strategy, solutions architecture and oversight, who can confidently act as a direction setter and subject matter expert, engaging positively with key business and technical stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing expertise and leadership as follows: • Strategic direction setting and roadmap preparation • Produce and deliver high quality high and low level network designs to meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory and operational risk controls • Propose and set society network patterns and standards and relentlessly apply them and seek maximum reuse • Participate in project priming, help to build the case for investment as part of the Business Planning and Enterprise Architecture process, involvement at early feasibility and ideation to shape and align to strategic technology direction • Build high confidence of delivery quality and drive consistency of design across initiatives • Analyse technical dependencies and work with architecture peers to understand enterprise-wide linkages, impact of changes / slippages, technology risks, issues and debts and feedback areas of IT fragility into the IT backlog of work. • Proactively bring clarity to any solution uncertainty and influence, lead towards successful business solution outcomes • Ensure an appropriate level of governance is applied to technology solution choices • Provide leadership and direction to maintain solution integrity, ensuring requirements are metAbout YouEssential Technical Skills:• Telecommunications network design • User and supplier / 3rd party remote access • Expert understanding of network devices, particularly Cisco infrastructures • Detailed understanding of network security concerns • WAN, LANs including contact centres, and Corporate and guest Wifi • Data Centre network design supporting HA and DR requirements • Hybrid Cloud Networks • A variety of Network monitoring systems and tools experience • Understanding of current and future networking trends Highly desirable Technical skills:• Experience operating as the network design governance / authority • Software defined networking, SDWAN and Cisco ACI • Strong Cloud Networks and Infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Coding and Infrastructure as CodeAbout The CompanyIT at the Coventry is changing; we are currently undertaking an exciting transformation that will shape the future of the organisation.
