Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Based in Coventry CV4 Full Time Position - Monday to Friday (option to work from home 3 days a week) Competitive Salary Plus excellent corporate benefits packages including a circa 5% Bonus and a great contribution pension scheme plus other benefits happy to share with you. Our client are a small-specialised division working within a large global organisation who are now seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in Electrification and Homologation, primarily around vehicle traction batteriesand BMS system Development. Many aspects of this role revolve around Better Design and Battery Engineering, supporting the integration of electronics into vehicles and battery systems, also developing battery modules and battery packs. Job Requirements: - 3D mechanical Design using CRE04 and Solidworks - Battery module design, with various cell types - Design Documentation & Calculations - BOM Creation - Detail Design for HV Batteries & associated components, housing, enclosure, BDU and Busbars, electrical components and BMS - Traction Battery layout and concepts from customer specifications - Developing designs and supporting testing and simulation work - Hands on involvements with Prototype build and troubleshooting - Creating drawings and work with other departments to get parts into production - Create Build Manuals - Expected to work at various stages of development from early proto into Alpha, Beta & Gama PhasesEssential Experience - Vehicle traction battery Validation & Homologation - CAD Design - 1D Thermal Simulation - Experience in Call Welding - Aluminium casting design - Injection moulded housings design - Folded sheet metal design - Harness routing design or EDS experience - Cooling system design with an under an understanding of heat transfer paths and flow characteristics If you are interested and feel you have the right skills, or would like to confidentially discuss the above then please apply to this position online.
