Job Description

A specialist manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer to work from their Coventry headquarters. You join the small purchasing team and take responsibility for a selection of suppliers to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourableterms.As the Senior Buyer you will support the Purchasing Manager:

  • Work with existing supply base across Europe and the Far East to ensure the best possible part/material and component supply.
  • Build very strong relationships and where possible deliver more favourable commercial terms.
  • Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
  • Manage the new component introduction from suppliers.
  • Overall you will work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable the production targets to be met on time in full.
To be successful within the Senior Buyer role you will have:
  • Previous experience as a Senior buyer within a manufacturing business.
  • New Product Introduction.
  • Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ideally you will have purchased a range of materials, components and castings and have worked as a buyer or senior buyer.
  • Worked with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
