Job Description

Im currently recruiting for a Application Engineer to help support the application and development of software and system integration for passenger car applications.Senior Application Engineer - up to £59,600Principle Application Engineer - up to £69,0002-3 days on-site in Coventry & 2 days remote workingSkills and Experience

  • 2+ years automotive industry experience ideally in automated transmission and electrified powertrain control
  • Exposure to algorithm design & implementation in model-based environment using Matlab/Simulink or Ascet-SD for embedded systems
  • Vehicle and/or test-rig based development experience
  • Vehicle and controller communication networks; e.g. CAN, CAN-FD, J1939, XCP
  • An awareness of Functional Safety
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of automated transmission and electrified powertrain control
  • Knowledge of calibration tools (ideally CANape)
  • Innovative with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Have a good understanding of the interface and interactions between electrical and mechanical systems
  • The ability to solve engineering problems using a structured, logical approach
  • Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly
  • Sound analytical and organisational skills with ability to prioritise effectively
  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethical behaviour in self and others; commitment to inclusion and diversity
The RoleYou will be part of a team that are responsible for delivering application software for customer projects into electrified powertrains.You will focus on understanding complete powertrain architecture, interfaces and transmission control.The role will cover:
    • Implementing requirements from design to production
    • Supporting development activities to commission, debug and optimise electrified powershifting transmission systems
    • Involvement in validation / verification / testing for embedded systems to ensure designs are fit for purpose; including Functional Safety aspects
