About The RoleWe currently have an opportunity for a Senior Prudential Risk Analyst within the Prudential Risk team, which forms part of the wider Financial and Enterprise Risk (FER) function. FER are an Independent 2nd line risk function which Reports directly to the ChiefRisk Officer. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Prudential Risk, and is a technical role with no line management responsibilities.FER are a trusted advisor and critical friend to the 1st line of defence. Our key purpose is to enable the business to make effective risk-based decisions, considering the prudential regulatory framework and underpinned by robust controls and governance.Youll be expected to take a lead role in performing 2nd line oversight of liquidity risk for the Society and presenting results to Senior Management and/or Executives as appropriate.Key responsibilities include: leading 2nd lines assessment of the ILAAP (inc. funding plan) reviewing and writing papers for key committees such as Liquidity Management Committee and ALCO providing independent oversight and challenge of the Societys liquidity & funding reporting working with the business to ensure efficient and risk-based deployment of the Societys liquidity resources and the funding structure providing input into the liquidity risk appetite setting exercise, the calibration and selection of liquidity, funding and market risk related limits and early-warning-indicators (EWIs) and relevant policies providing a key role in the oversight of the Societys Recovery Plan providing oversight of the Societys Interest Rate risk profile performing analysis of specific risks through the production of thematic reviews performing periodic reviews of the Societys regulatory liquidity reporting returnsWe also expect you to support the Prudential Risk Senior Manager in providing effective risk oversight of other Financial and Prudential risks as required, including Capital and Treasury Credit.The role requires the development of effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the risk function, Finance, Treasury, Credit and Product teams and to work in a cooperative and constructively challenging manner, in order to promote best inclass approachesto the management of the Societys financial and prudential risks.About YouYoull be educated to degree level (or higher) most likely via a numerate discipline (e.g. Economics, Finance, Mathematics), or demonstrable equivalent skills through experience.You will have the confidence and ability to independently review, assess and comment on: the Societys approach to measuring, monitoring, measuring and mitigating liquidity risks the sufficiency of actual and forecast liquidity the Societys funding plan the efficiency and effectiveness of the Societys liquidity resource deployment and broader strategic balance sheet management approach regulatory compliance and level of preparedness for future regulatory changesYou will be expected to maintain good relationships with key stakeholders and aim to be seen as a trusted advisor, who adds value through the application of your knowledge and judgement.You will have a sound understanding of the Prudential Regulatory landscape, including Basel and the PRAs approach to supervising Liquidity & Funding Risks. You will also have prior experience of writing, reviewing or advising upon ILAAPs and a strong graspof stress testing,liquidity/funding planning. You will be proactive and work with the business to help it navigate uncertainty, change and complexity and meet regulatory expectations.You will need to be able to explain complex technical matters in a concise and easily understood format to senior but non-technical people and be confident in presenting your ideas, recommendations and findings to senior audiences.You will have a track record of being able to influence stakeholders and have excellent report writing and analytical skills.
