Job Description

X 5 Semi-skilled Production Operatives - Aldermans Green, CoventryThis is a temp to perm roleImmediate start availableWorking Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00 rotating weekly to 10:00 to 19:30Pay rate £9.98 per hour + overtime premiums available for overtime. You must be flexible to work overtime as and when requiredYou will be working on a production line producing glass reinforced plastic sheets. You will be monitoring quality and workflow and implementing corrective action when required to maintain high standard of quality. You will be working as part of a cell toensure all customers orders are manufactured on time to the correct specification, as efficiently as possible using the clients methods. You will be responsible to collect and record production data to make sure KPIs are being met and standards are maintained.You will be required to maintain high standards of housekeeping in line with the 5s program, take part in WOW (War on Waste) continuous improvement projects as and when required and identify opportunities for improvement to processes or equipment.Role:

  • Checking lengths, profile, trim positions and other specifications to ensure that they are in tolerance at the beginning of every customer order and at regular intervals thereafter.
  • Quickly identify sheets that require rework and inform the off-line team of any forthcoming rework.
  • Understand all inspection standards & tolerances, competently inspect sheet coming off the line and ensure that no poor-quality laminate/incorrect quantities are sent to a customer.
  • Use a combination of schedule information, daily running conditions and historical production records
  • Monitor the process and make adjustments that are necessary to ensure that a right first time ethos is adopted and minimise the need for rework.
  • Input data into the computer system regarding lengths and quantities and other relevant information.
  • Finishing operations including trimming sheets within 1 metre of start-up and former changes.
  • Ensure that the section is tidy, maintaining machinery and equipment withinExperience:
  • Experience of working in a production environment
  • Experience of using daily production schedules to plan manufacturing activities.
  • Be computer literate
  • Ability to learn quickly and respond quickly to production problems.
  • Ability to remain focussed and alert under pressure
  • Knowledge of KPIs and production targets.
  • Skilled at working within a lean / continuous improvement production environment.
