We are looking for a Retail Finance Assistant to assist in the Finance function of the Society in an efficient and accurate manner being an integral part of process and systems continualimprovement.Reporting to Head of Finance (initially the Financial Controller & Secretary)Skill RequirementsExcellent attention to detailOrganisational skillsAnalytically minded individual capable of prioritising tasks and meeting deadlinesTeam playerProficient in Microsoft Office ExcelIT LiterateExperience of systems development and implementationKey ResponsibilitiesControl of all Food Division invoice charging and stock reconciliationsEnsure all Food Division Branch Charging of costs is dealt with accurately.Liaise with Food Store managers to deal with any Branch Charging queries.Control of all related information required for food stocktake results.Control of all Funeral Division sales ledger transactions to ensure all reconciliations are complete and up to date.Potential of credit control operations for the Funeral Division and liaising with external debt collection and legal advisors.N.B. Both of these elements of the role currently require significant system development, and this successful candidate will be heavily involved in this development work alongside Financial Controller & Secretary and the IT teams.To perform any ad-hoc tasks requested by Management Executive and line managers.Have a basic understanding of VAT & Banking processes within the Society.To demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct at all timesTo promote good working relationships both in own department and across the Society divisions.To promote good working relationships in own department and across the Society Divisions.Observe all safety and hygiene regulations and practices as laid down by the Society under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).To observe at all times regulations and procedures as described in the Societys Employee Handbook.To demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct at all timesTo promote good working relationships both in own department and across the Societys divisions.Co-operative DifferenceThe manner and spirit in which duties are executed should be consistently driven by our Mission:To provide good value for money through a range of shopping facilities and services.
