We are currently recruiting for a Research Assistant to contribute to research activity for the project "How can we best support parents/carers of young people with common mental health problems who are not currently receiving NHS services". This role is 1-2 hours per week to be agreed until 30th June 2022Duties and Responsibilities1.Undertake guided research including, for example *Reviewing titles and abstracts for inclusion in the literature review*Locating full-texts for the literature review*Reviewing full-texts for inclusion/exclusion in the literature review*Data extraction for literature review*Maintaining data quality assurance procedures2.Contribute to the communication of output of research activity. This is likely to include*preparing papers and posters for peer reviewed submission3.Contribute to the delivery of existing activities as part of University community engagement or local partnership programmes.PERSON SPECIFICATION - RESEARCH ASSISTANTEducation/ Qualifications*Good degree (1st class or 2.1) in an appropriate subject such as Psychology.*Or relevant discipline or professional experience equivalent to an honours degree*Masters qualification in an appropriate subject such as applied psychology, e.g. Health or Clinical.Experience(Paid and Unpaid)*Sound knowledge of research methods relevant to literature reviewing.*Experience of working as a Research Assistant on projects relating to mental health or doing literature reviews.Research/PublicationsSpecial Interests*Desire to publish conference or journal papers related to mental health.*Up to date knowledge and understanding of relevant discipline and contribute to innovation and development in own field.*Experience of giving conference papers or publishing research papers. Job-related skills/Aptitudes*Excellent communicator, organised approach to work, confident in working independently and as part of a team.*Self-motivated and able to take initiative and to work both unsupervised and to close direction. *Demonstrate adherence to regulations e.g. ethics, legal requirements*Flexible approach to work.Interpersonal Skills*Excellent communication skills will be essential, both in terms of verbal communication and written communication.*Must be a team player and able to work towards a common research goalOther Requirements*May be required to work outside of normal 8.30am to 5:00pm hours including weekends, on occasion.*Willingness to travel to other organisations nationally and internationally.*Able to take responsibility for developing their own career in partnership with the University.
