Job Description

We have rewarding roles available for caring individuals who want to make a difference in the community and provide support to those with transport accessibility needs, to join our fantastic and welcoming team in our Coventry depot as Pupil Guides.As a home to school Pupil Guide you will enjoy the benefit of splitting your working hours over two shifts. You will enjoy the late morning and lunchtime to pursue your leisure activities.

  • A split shift pattern of 07:30am-09:30am returning for 14:30pm, with varying shift patterns finishing up to 18:30pm
  • You will work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only
What youll doYou will supervise pupils with special educational needs whilst they are being transported from home to school and vice versa. Were seeking candidates that will happily interact with the pupils, and support our drivers regarding health and safety. This includes:
  • Ensuring the safety of the pupils they are travelling with is the prime consideration
  • Making sure the pupils being transported do not distract the driver whilst the vehicle is in motion and they behave in a suitable manner whilst onboard
  • Appropriate physical contact with pupils to enable comfortable entry and exit from the vehicles
  • Ensuring seat belts are fastened, securing the children in to their harnesses where required
  • Making sure the pupils are safely handed over to a member of staff at the school and back to the approved parent/guardian on return
  • Guides must sit in the back of the vehicle with the pupils, and not in the front with the driver
This opportunity would suit candidates that have previously worked with the care industry, however this is not essential as full training is provided! Things to note...
