Job Description

Progress OpenEdge DeveloperCoventry£45-55k A Progress OpenEdge Software Developer is sought after by a global automotive business based near Coventry who have been going through a period of rapid growth. The OpenEdge Developer is being hired to develop new features for the companys core businesssystems and solve problems for existing applications.The role can be worked mostly remote, but it would ideal if visit the office on occasion. You will be joining a small development team consisting of fellow OpenEdge Developers and a handful of .NET programmers.Key responsibilities for the Progress OpenEdge Developer:

  • Design, analysis and technical specification for new product integrations and developments
  • Providing technical direction on performance, user experience and product architecture
  • Debugging of key faults, develop strategies to improve product performance
  • Write clean, testable code and APIs using OpenEdge Progress
  • Hands-on development of code to support product development, maintenance, upgrades, and migrations
  • Follow approved development methodologies (i.e Scrum, Agile, etc.)
Desired experience for this Progress OpenEdge Developer:
  • 2+ years experience with Progress OpenEdge
  • Familiar with C#, .NET framework, SQL Sever
  • Knowledge of web services (REST)
  • Agile / Scrum / TDD
Nice to have skills are:
  • Experience using TFS or Azure Dev Ops Source Control
  • Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Office 365
