Job Description

Job Title Procurement ManagerLocation CoventrySalary Up to £45,000 per annumThe RoleA very well-established Commercial Vehicle business in Coventry, is looking for a Procurement Manager to join their growing team.In this role, you will be managing the procurement activity for a group of companies with a multi-million annual spend, as well as:

  • Evaluate potential suppliers and regularly monitor suppliers OTD and quality statistics
  • Optimise the supply chain from suppliers to ensure primary and secondary suppliers are in place across all critical components
  • Be responsible to put in place a supply management programme, working with quality and technical to ensure high-quality supply
  • Be involved in implementing internal processes for spend approval and budget management to maintain internal cost control across cost centres
  • Support management on projects through new component sourcing and supply, including sample and prototype production where required
  • Audit suppliers to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements, including anti-slavery, ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Run multiple tenders to maximise volume across the group to deliver large cost savings.
  • Act as a liaison between supplier and business, always keep the team informed and deal with queries in a prompt and professional manner
  • Review enquiries considering suppliers capabilities to manufacture to customers specification
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure accurate material and process costs
  • Other duties as required.
    • The CandidateFor this role, we would require someone with previous senior procurement experience, as well as:
  • Experience within a complex global supply chain environment, in a technical field where quality standards are critical, and price is a challenge
  • Experience in liaising with suppliers in the Far East
  • Proven experience in reducing spend in under 6 months through negotiation of supply contracts and rebate structures
  • Previous experience within a Commercial Vehicle, Remanufacturing environment would be desirable
  • Confident in working in a highly varied, but targeted environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised, with a high attention to detail
