We offer a range of wound care technologies and all our products are manufactured in ISO certified clean rooms in line with the highest standards of care.SFM’s aim is to successfully deliver innovative, cost effective and quality products and solutions into the advanced wound care industry with an ultimate aim of improving patient care and wellbeing.Currently an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Process Engineer to join and support Operations team.Process Engineer - About the Role:The role will suit someone at the beginning of their career in engineering looking for an opportunity to gain broad experience and develop new skills.Process Engineer duties to include:

  • Drives continuous improvement activities of existing production processes.
  • Leads the design, development, installation and validation of equipment and process for new product platforms.
  • Represents Operations throughout the Design Control Process to assess and manage the risks and impact of new processes.
  • Investigates and troubleshoot issues/problems.
  • Determines requirements and prepares capital expenditure documentation required for new process development and expansion projects.
  • Reports process trend analysis.
  • Process Engineer - The Candidate: The successful candidate will be offered the necessary support and training. On joining, you will undergo relative job training and be supported by a friendly and experienced cross-functional team. Once up to speed, you will be key to the continuous improvements of machinery, processes and automation.Key Skills / Abilities:
  • Degree or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline is essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Previous experience of working in a hands-on manufacturing environment, working closely with Production and Quality teams.
  • Competent in document and report writing.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and pro-active team player who demonstrates a can-do attitude.
  • An excellent problem solver with resilience and determination to identify and implement solutions.
  • Able to both think for themselves but also prepared to ask for advice from others with more experience when necessary.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach with ability to embrace change.
  • Advantageous skills/ abilities:
  • Process scale-up and design transfer experience.
  • Project management and large capital expenditure.
  • Knowledge of SPC / DOE / analytical methods.
  • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international Medical Device regulations, such as ISO 13485, FDA QSR, Medical Device Directive.
