Job Description

As a Data Architect you will be responsible for leading and shaping the end to end data architecture across our business. Your solution designs will help evolve our technology landscape and industry interaction processes. You will act as the key architecturepoint of contact, proactively engaging with various business functions.Day to day you will be required to direct, produce or govern high quality, fit for purpose solution designs aimed at meeting functional and non-functional requirements that adhere to our reference architectures, as well as current technology industry standardsand best practice.You will be a team player within the Architecture team and an important part of our Business & Technology team with a clear focus on delivery. You will significantly contribute to the Architecture teams input into our energy transition journey by assistingin translating business strategies and priorities into target architectures through coherent solution designs, reference architectures, patterns and standards.You will ideally have the following experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of data architecture components across multiple on-prem & cloud platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of the usage and architectural role of the data warehouse, data lake, reporting / dashboarding tools, ETL processes and algorithmic processing.
  • Experience in capturing requirements, facilitating business and technical design, and negotiating project scope and roadmap with clients, based on a sound understanding of the cost/benefit profile of each deliverable.
  • Experience delivering complex technical solutions with appreciation of modern data platforms.
  • Robust knowledge of design thinking approaches to developing data products.
  • Possesses an innovative mindset to create new options and challenge the status quo.
  • Apply creativity and judgment in developing new approaches and solutions.
  • Anticipates and clearly defines problems, diagnoses causes, identifies solutions and creates collaborative action plans
  • Appreciation of the opportunities to monetize data using AI, data science or machine learning.
  • Produces high-quality client deliverables suitable for consumption at board level.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts without a reliance on jargon and to all levels of audience.
  • Constantly looking to develop their own skills and knowledge.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working in a team environment and across large and complex organisations.
