Job Description

Bladon Micro Turbine are recruiting for a Powerplant Project Engineer to join our dedicated team in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative engineering Company and use your skills and extensive knowledge within a supportive, engaging environment.The successful applicant will be involved in the development and validation of the core micro-turbine and recuperator systems and components using our in-house experimental test facilities, as well as working with our external test partners.The ideal candidate will have experience of the development of gas turbine and/or high temperature heat exchanger technology. They must have a hands-on approach as this role requires problem solving and working within a cross functional team involving supply chain, quality and manufacturing functions.The candidate needs to have a relevant Bachelor of Engineering degree, a proven track record in technology development, ideally relating to gas turbines and be able to work unsupervised.Key Responsibilities;

  • Technical responsibility for driving existing designs through complex supply chain into in-house production
  • Responsible for problem solving and resolution of design issues during development of supply chain and in-house manufacturing
  • Responsible for regular reporting to and alignment with Turbine and Recuperator work package leaders
  • Responsible for the specification of test schedules and analysis and reporting of test results
  • Present and provide engineering input at design reviews
  • Provide production line and aftermarket technical support
  • Support full lifecycle development, including DFMEA, DVP

BH Additional Information Bladon MT are moving to a new high-tech facility in Leamington Spa during 2021, the role will work initially in Coventry then move across to the new facility.Essential SkillsQualifications & Experience;
  • Relevant Bachelor of Engineering degree
  • Good first principles understanding of engineering, including proven track record of delivering sub-systems and components into volume production
  • Good understanding of product development lifecycle including safety requirements, DFMEA, DVP
  • Experience of working in test facilities and defining tests and analysing the results
  • Excellent team player with good written and verbal presentation skills
  • Proven track record in problem solving, ideally using structured problem-solving methodologies e.g. 8D
  • Ideally will have direct gas turbine experience
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary cross functional teams is highly desirable
