Job Description

RSR is a public safety & enterprise security recruitment specialist. We assist public safety employers find the right talent. We assist all employers when they want to source public safety and enterprise security skills and experience.RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Coventry for an Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to plan and implement high quality support for women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse.This is a full time, fixed term contract for 2 years and offers a rate of pay of £11.79 per hour.Main Duties:

  • Identify and develop support strategies to meet the needs of women and children affected by domestic abuse in all forms, seeking support across services.
  • Develop policies and practice guidelines appropriate to the project in accordance with the clients policies and procedures.
  • Identify and make links with existing projects and community services and to develop joint services where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve access to service and provide drop-ins and surgeries where women are in the community.
  • Support CHWA provision of workshops, group work and training for professionals, community groups and individuals to help them understand the impact of DA and to improve identification and referrals into the service.
  • Work with a team of volunteers/ champions who will work with the community-based DA Practitioners to offer support to women and children affected by domestic violence.
  • Provide high quality case work, 1:2:1 support and advice to victims/survivors who are/have experienced DA.
  • Work with women to identify their support needs and incorporate these into womens Individual Support Plans (ISP). Review each ISP on a regular basis.
  • Provide group work support for victims/survivors.
  • Facilitate access for women to both statutory and community services.
  • Devise and implement appropriate methods of communication with women and children, in agreement with your line manager.
  • Work alongside colleagues to organise in-house training and information sessions on a range of issues for service users.
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept for all service users and that that Health and Safety records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure that all staff team members are aware of any matters that are relevant to the welfare and security of the premises, staff, volunteers and service users.
  • Undertake any other duties required by CH which are required and commensurate with the post.
Essential Requirements:
  • Good general level of education.
  • Undertaken Domestic Violence and Abuse, Honor Based Abuse (HBA) & Forced Marriage (FM) No Recourse To Public Funds (NRPF).
  • A professional qualification is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of DA issues and the statutory framework.
  • Good listening, support and advice skills demonstrating the ability to assess the needs of callers experiencing DVA.
  • Understanding of referrals processes, particularly to housing, benefits and legal as it relates to domestic violence.
  • Understanding of the needs of BAME communities experiencing DVA forced marriage & honour based violence no recourse to public funds trafficked victims and how discrimination affects them.
  • Experience of identifying, dealing with and referring safeguarding concerns to relevant agencies.
  • Ability to speak at least one of the following languages Urdu, Hindi, Mirpuri, Punjabi Gujrati or Bengali Farzi, Pushtu, African languages in particular Somalian.
