Oracle DBA 6 month contract CoventryWe are currently looking for a professional, motivated and highly experienced Oracle DBA to provide Oracle expertise on a contract basis for one of the Top 50 companies to work for in the UK; based in the West Midlands; who are currently undergoing a complex and large-scale Transformation Programme and subsequently are looking to significantly uplift their capability. The successful Oracle DBA will have the below responsibilities: - Installing, upgrading and configuring Oracle DB 12c on Solaris 11 - Design and implementation of high available Oracle RAC on Solaris 11 - Patching Oracle DB 12c - Create, build and testing template to provision Oracle 12c database using OEM 13c - Data Centre migration planning and implementation - Regular level 3 support both BAU and project deployment - DR Design, implementation and testing - Automate Oracle Database backup and monitoring - Hardening Oracle DB 12c installation and configuration - Creation of technical documentation - Authentication configuration, management and investigation in secure environment. - Experience with good DevOps approach and associated tools e.g. Jenkins and Docker - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associates tools such as Confluence, Jira and Wiki - Exposure to Solaris 11 - Provisioning Oracle DB 12c in form of a template with different SLA and configuration - Configure DB for PCI and non-PCI environments - Configuring and setup back/restore regime for Oracle DB - Hardening Oracle DB 12c In order to be successful within this Oracle DBA opportunity; it is necessary that you will have the below experience: - Strong practical experience across Oracle 11R2 and 12c on Solaris 11 - Practical experience on Fusion Middleware 12c - Experience in Oracle database RAC and Non-RAC design and implementation, Testing and support - Previous experience of migration and upgrade of Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware - Create and test Oracle DB template using OEM 13c - Current knowledge of and experience with systems integration methods and technologies - Able to articulate technical concepts in a concise and easy-to-understand manner - Installation and configuration of Oracle Vault and advance Oracle security - Experience in upgrading OID 10g to 12c On top of this; the below are desirable skills/experience that the successful Oracle DBA will have: - CommVault - Vertis - WebLogic configuration for high availability and performance - Scheduler (Control M, Xi-Batch etc) - EMCLI scripting - Awareness of Oracle Application Server (IAS 10g) - Understanding DevOps pipeline - Segregation of Duties - Oracle SQL Firewall - Experience in design, development, test and integration of quality software Please note; that whilst relevant qualifications are valued; this is a role that demonstrable Oracle experience is essential.
