Job Description

Bishop Ullathorne Catholic School is part of the Holy Cross Catholic Multi Academy Company.At Bishop Ullathorne we are committed to a process of ongoing improvement and discovery. Indeed, Ofsted, who rated our school "Good" in March 2019 said "Your curriculum is underpinned by your Catholic values and encouragesall pupils to engage in activities within the school and beyond".We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, confident and professional Office Supervisor to lead and manage the school reception/ administration team, ensuring that an effective and efficient service is delivered at all times. The successful candidate willensure the reception and administration service provided is exceptional. Other responsibilities within the role include:

  • general administration and typing
  • setting up for school events both internal and external
  • administering the school buses
  • overseeing school trips
  • responsible for checking all information being sent out
  • prioritising workloads of staff within the department as appropriate, to meet the needs of the school
  • performance management of reception/ administration staff.
We are looking for someone who has:
  • a good education
  • experience of working within an reception/ administrative background
  • demonstrable experience of maintaining, developing and improving administration systems
  • good understanding of management information systems
  • excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, both internally and externally
  • attention to detail
  • high standards.
You will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and will be confident in dealing with a range of people including parents, students, teachers, senior leadership and outside agencies. The working hours are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm.Bishop Ullathorne is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and appointments will be subject to rigorous safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS and references. The post holder must share our commitment to safeguarding andpromoting the welfare of children. Candidates who have been successfully short listed will be asked to complete a self-declaration to confirm any (non-protected) criminal disclosures or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.The post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
