Network Pre-analytics Lead Supervisor (Specimen Reception) Band 5 – Full Time Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services provides specimen reception services at 6 main sites; University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry and in Rugby, City of Coventry Health Centre in Coventry, George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton, South Warwick Foundation Trust in Warwick and Queen’s Hospital in Burton. As part of our blood science transformation project we plan to use the Rugby St Cross site and City of Coventry Health Centre as stabilisation sites. These stabilisation sites and our bespoke logistics solution which will provide us with a unique platform to deliver the highest quality blood science solution for sample delivery .We are currently looking at movement of work across our network in line with our blood science transformation plans. We will use the Rugby St Cross site and City of Coventry Health Centre sites to stabilise all the cold work/primary care work across our network. This will allow us to smooth work flow into our Hub laboratory so we do not have the traditional peaks and troughs of work in the afternoons and early evenings that is associated generally with blood science work flow. Stabilising samples with help us reduce a, number of pre analytic issue for example falsely elevated potassium levels, coagulation samples from collection to being on the analysers will be within four hours, samples are transported in a temperature controlled environment.We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, forward thinking individuals. Experience in specimen reception is not essential for this role; however, travelling between sites on a regular basis is required, as is proven experience in people management, demonstrate a commitment to continued service improvement.
