Job Description

Mould Shop Setter (automotive)CV4 9AQ, CoventryEvtec Automotive are an automotive manufacturer and aftermarket supplier to some of the UKs biggest car manufacturers including Ford and Jaguar Land Rover and we are looking for a Team Leader to join our busy production team. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone who is an experienced self starter to develop and grow our new Injection Mould Shop area.Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Mould Shop Setter is responsible for managing the activities of the new Mould Shop Area to meet the requirements agreed for the customer. This will involve managing the day to day activities as well as more long-termdevelopments to help improve the businesses (continuous improvement). An experienced hands-on setter who will carry out injection mould tool setting and material changes to the companys high-quality standards ensuring an effective and efficient process.To liaise with the Manufacturing Manager to understand the overall site production requirements and organise activities accordingly to ensure overall production targets are met and that customer satisfaction levels are maximised.

  • Carrying out all necessary tool, material and colour changes within an injection moulding environment. Recommending modifications or improvements to increase productivity and quality. Maximising machine utilisation & overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Engaging in Continuous Improvement initiatives & 5S to drive positive change within your area of function.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensuring all production, Quality Management System (QMS) data, and visual standards are maintained and up to date.
  • Daily running of moulding machine in line with Mould shop capacity plan. To monitor machine utilization for all shifts if required. Indicate machine status i.e. running, tool change, sampling etc.
  • Carry out tool changes to achieve maximum utilization in conjunction with mould shop plan and running priority. Monitor tool changes per shift and durations, identify areas for improvement.
  • Target worst case cycle times and install improvement actions. Once worst cases are actioned move to next level with overall objective of all machines being within quoted cycle times.
  • Check daily quality issues with quality department/inspectors and plan corrective actions. Identify any training required: liaise with Manufacturing Manager on personal improvements. Carry out setting-conditioning / tool hanging to maximize machine runningperformance.
  • Conduct and or participate in problem solving actions where appropriate. Look for areas of improvement and work with appropriate people (Production, Engineering, Quality etc.) to implement any areas of improvement. Also, to share any areas of best practicewith other Team Leaders and colleagues where appropriate.
  • To conduct inductions with all new Team Members to ensure they have had appropriate training for their role and that they are properly integrated into the Team.
  • To lead by example and act as a flexible member of the Team by carrying out direct production tasks to ensure delivery of targets to the timescales required. Ensure all quality procedures are followed, including special care points as well as conductingfirst-off and last-off checks.
  • Make sure that all employees are aware of all Health & Safety guidelines for the section and that these are followed at all times.
  • Provide regular updates against the production schedule to the Manufacturing Manager and highlighting any potential problems so that they can be resolved before impacting on production.
