We are pleased to assist our valued client who is one of the longest standing Engineering companies in Coventry.Role Purpose:The role holder will be responsible for Manufacturing activity within individual Value Stream including new project introductions. This key role will also include supporting processes, machines and methods to fulfil production requirements.Key Responsibilities:Work with HS Officer to ensure compliance with all statutory and company requirements, including health and safety/risk assessment/environmental/noise awareness and action, implementing corrective and preventive actions following quality concernsSupport FMPS system and ensure actions are carried out to support the department prioritiesRaise order for consumable and improvement items, carry out Verification Audits and generate SOPs in standard format in line with a process for verification auditing while monitoring department spend and identifying and implementing productivity savingsOEE Downtime Analysis and Implementation of corrective actionsIntroduction of new products - design, development, routing, ISIR, PPAP, tooling requirements and preparation of part drawings, op sheets & tool setting drawingsDesign, develop, source tooling, handling & fixtures and Control modification of products - minor changes to complete re-ISIRMaintenance of SAP files including logic creation and using a team-based approach compile FMEAs and review regularlySpecification & development of consumablesPlan & co-ordinate equipment movements and layouts in line with manufacturing lean philosophy, method improvement by investigation into current state and modern manufacturing ideas, and assisting in setting process parameters including product design for manufactureSupport quality department with 8D activity, scrap reduction activity, and the change management processSupervision of contractors/service engineers, carry out necessary activity associated with ECN and MIRFs, and assist in development of ARsUnderstanding the capacity of the machines and processes in the department, and any other reasonable duties that may be assigned in line with business needs.Installation, commissioning, and training of new and existing plantSupport maintenance by providing training on plant, filling out machine fix reports to improve frontline system, and providing critical spares listsRequirements:Degree in Production Engineering or HNC with relevant experience preferably in automotive metal cutting, with ideally 3 years manufacturing engineering experience and an Engineering ApprenticeshipExperience with new product introduction, liaising with suppliers and customers, and project managementComputer literate with knowledge of CNC programming and PRO E/ Windchill and an understanding of SPCJig & Tool appreciation and structured problem solving (8D)SAP knowledge preferredISO 14001/TS 16949Good communicator and team player, with Ability to operate in an effective manner and work within a team environmentHands on Engineer with flexibility to operate in a dynamic environment.Ability to operate in an effective manner and work within a team environmentDriving Licence and Full Passport, with ability to meet reasonable travel requirements
