Job Description

My client, high end accommodation, providing a safe and welcoming environment for students are seeking a Maintenance Technician to contribute to an exceptional resident experience through the provision of high standard of repairs and maintenance tasks. Dealing with minor day to day repairs and decoration to the building, grounds and various equipment when needed.Role and responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team and supporting other team members, to deliver exceptional resident living
  • Communicate effectively with customers, clients and colleagues, demonstrating a clear understanding of the issues
  • Monitor the electronic maintenance reporting system daily ensuring tasks are completed
  • Administer all property maintenance & records in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain adequate levels of spares, stock and supplies
  • To respond to calls outside office hours which cannot be resolved without a presence on site
  • Undertake repair and maintenance tasks to a high-quality including plumbing, joinery and carpentry, painting/decorating and maintenance of lighting
  • Moving furniture and heavy items from location to location on site as required
  • Frequently inspect and maintain refuse and recycling facilities
  • Co-ordinate Contractors/Suppliers executing minor works contract on site
  • Accompany external contractors whilst on site in line with key management
  • Ensure annual checks are carried out for their statutory insurance and qualifications.
  • Keep the gardens and grounds to the property well maintained and clean
  • Carry out annual PAT testing and inspections of emergency lighting, weekly fire alarm tests and fire evacuations
  • Report any incidents or accidents if they occur
  • Any other jobs that may arise

  • Reasonable level of general education educated to O’ Level / GCSE level
  • Demonstrable or written and numerical skills.
  • Awareness of H&S requirements on site
  • A recognised trade qualification, Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds or NVQ relevant
  • Experience of undertaking repairs and maintenance in a domestic residential environment
  • Helpful, friendly personality and Behave in a professional, courteous and helpful manner towards colleagues and residents at all times with a flexible approach
  • Smart in appearance, complying with stated appearance code
