Coventry University are recruiting for 2 Library Assistants to help during their busy period. This role is Monday to Friday 10.00am-16.00 (1/2 for lunch) for 3 months.Supporting the work of the Library by delivering high quality customer focused services to Library customers both face to face, by phone, online and through supporting back room functions. Undertakes clerical duties as appropriate to departmental requirements.May multi-task between library functions in response to demand and current priorities as part of the wider library team.Responsibilities:1.Customer facing duties including but not limited to: enquiries face-to-face, by phone, online and roving services, service desks, Library tours and open days2.Clerical duties according to departmental requirements of the grade e.g. circulation services (such as loaning and returning resources, renewals and reservations, managing invoices and dealing with lost and missing items); information resource functions (suchas document supply, ordering and receipting, collection management, reading list support); support for the academic liaison team, supporting the research and scholarly publications team functions.3.To use the Library Management System to enter, retrieve and analyse data related to customers and library stock.4.Undertakes financial transactions including cash handling and other financial transactions including processes around acquisitions, overdue fines, missing books and other charges, liaising with Finance to resolve problems, 5.Participates in shelving process.6.Participate in project work as required.7.To ensure skills are up to date and engage with the DPR process8.Work as part of a team to meet team goals including the support of new staff.9.Liaise with colleagues in other university departments and external contacts as necessary.10.Assists with the security of the building, the librarys resources and its customers, liaising with University Protection Service when appropriate.11.Ensure adequate referral of complex and / or policy related queries and enquiries.12.Supports library policies and proceduresThis role is to start immediately and based 5 days a week on campus.
