Job Description

ACR Recruitment & Training Ltd are looking for passionate and motivated Early years practitioner with a minimum Level 3 qualification and knowledge of the EYFS to join our successful team, working in Childcare settings throughout Coventry and the surroundingareas avaialable for immediate start.This position is full time 40 hours per week between 7.30-6.30 working 5 days per week, on a Rota Basis. Able to work with All Age Groups.All year Round.Nursery Nurse Qualification:GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English required (Grade C or above)

  • o Level 2 Childcare (or higher) Qualification is essential (Level 3 or above desired) o Previous experience is highly desired.o In-Depth knowledge of the current EYFS regulationso Strong inter-personal skillso Full awareness of the Children’s Act 1989o Food Hygiene Certificateo Paediatric First Aid Certificateo DBS Checked
Key Responsibilities:o To arrive at work in good time, in uniform, to allow your belongings to be put safely away and be ready to start in allocated room at the start of your shift.o Ensure that you monitor all entry and exit doors, ensuring that all parents/visitors/carers are authorised to enter, if you are unsure request to see ID & alert another member of staff or your manager. Always ensure that you have contacted parent/carershould an unknown individual attempt to collect a child without prior authorisation.o Ensure ratios are maintained at all times.o To promote wellbeing and healthy eating practices for all children.o To act as a key person to a small group of children, keeping records and recording observations, liaising closely withparents/carers. Ensure that each child is learning and developing by drawing up and monitoring planning.o To ensure that each child’s needs are recognised and met. Responsible for implementing systems of observations andrecord keeping so that attainment and progress is effectively and regularly assessed.o To provide quality teaching & learning to children. Offering and promoting a stimulating, enabling & challengingenvironment for all children with an appropriate level of support & stimulation.o To keep records of children’s achievements and share this information with parents/carers, informing them about thenursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parental involvement.Ensuring all required documentation is kept up to date.o To greet & feedback to all children, their families, carers, and to offer reassurance to new families and support them insettling in. Always maintaining a friendly yet professional relationship/approach with families/carers.o To help set-up the room for the daily programme and/or help tidy away at the end of the day. Ensuring that theenvironment is safe, carrying out risk assessments & temperature control, checking that equipment is safe, standards ofhygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are regularly practiced.o To assist with the planning of the curriculum, in-line with the latest EYFS and Ofsted regulations and child’s individualneeds.o To advise the Room Leader/Nursery Manager of any concerns about children, parents, carers, other Staff, nurseryenvironment, or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.o To maintain confidentiality regarding any information regarding children, their families, carers or other Staff which islearned as part of the job, inside and outside of the nursery.o To assist in promoting/developing multi-cultural awareness and anti-racist/sexiest practice within the Nursery.o To assist, where necessary, in the practical training of new staff, assistants, apprentices and trainees.o To follow all Nursery Policies & Procedures at all times and, respect for colleagues at all times.o To attend staff/planning meetings and in-service training courses & update meetings as required.o To liaise with management, social services, and other professionals as necessary. Ensure that all legal & statutoryrequirements are implemented and provide written reports as and when requested.
