Job Description

Job Title - IT System TesterSalary - £35,000 to £40,000 per annumLocation - CoventryContract - Full-time, Permanent role - Office BasedAs the Lead IT Test Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing best practice testing processes within the organisation across a range of bespoke software, off the shelf systems and API integrations. Working within project delivery,you will be a core member of the team in ensuring testing environments are set up consistently in line with production and that products are quality assured with respect to functions, features, performance and compliance. You will establish common standardsfor testing across the IT landscape and develop awareness of dependencies and business process across the organisation. This is a challenging role for someone looking to develop in all areas of Quality Assurance and raise testing standards and profile withinthe business.Duties of the IT System Tester will include:

  • Document and build test case, plans and data, ensuring that they can be comprehended by colleagues at all levels
  • Estimate realistic timelines for design and execution of all test activities
  • Executing all levels of testing from manual exploratory testing through to performance and regression tests and supporting UAT
  • Creating status reports and defect reporting
  • Develop integration and automation of testing for front and back-office systems and integrations - predominantly based around core CRM, Payroll and Finance software
  • Liaise with the Business Analysis and Development teams to form a full understanding of requirements and specifications informing test scenarios
  • Translating user requirements into detailed QA specifications
  • Working proactively with Development and Infrastructure teams to ensure testing environments are consistent with production and available to execute test plans
  • Provide and/or develop technical expertise in Test Automation, Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools and Techniques
Key requirements of the IT System Tester:
  • Experience working across multiple systems and integrations across an end-to-end business process
  • Attention to detail with the ability to produce excellent documentation
  • Proactive self-starter with good communication and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of API testing and exposure to Postman or similar clients
  • Eager to learn new systems and processes and understand functions and their impact
  • Experience or interest in developing Test Automation and scripting
  • Logical, analytical and able to understand the permutations resulting from system calculations
Salary is circa £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience), and the role will be office based.
