About The RoleThe Coventry has an ambitious growth and change roadmap with significant investment in technology to realise our ambition to be the best mortgage and savings provider in the UK.We have a CIPS accredited Procurement department which has grown from a standing start, and we are continuing to grow and transform to meet the Societys needs, in addition to our new regulatory obligations.Youll be part of the Business Services Procurement Team within the Procurement Function, which is responsible for the successful management and execution of all areas of Business Services spend within CBS. Business Services means all procurement activityin the Societys head office functions (including the Property Function). The team is responsible for procurement and sourcing projects across all areas of CBS outside IT and Change, with the mandate to drive value through best in class strategic sourcingand category management.Youll have responsibility for developing and implementing the Business Services Procurement Strategy for CBS, demonstrating the benefits of procurement within CBS. Implementing that strategy is pivotal for the effective management of CBSs entire procurementspend.Youll be part of a small team and will work closely with senior stakeholders, in particular youll be responsible for ensuring that products and services are sourced competitively, cost effectively and in line with relevant policy requirements. Youll be expectedto have extensive experience of all procurement process (including RFI, RFP, contract drafting, negotiation and supplier management phases) and be able to manage major suppliers through the entire procurement process. As well as Business Services Procurementrelated activity, from time to time you may be asked to become involved in broader Function wide opportunities and activities.As a member of the Societys Procurement Function, the role also requires you to identify report and mitigate third party risk in line with the Societys Enterprise Risk Management Framework.About YouYoull be an experienced indirect Procurement professional, having sourced a wide range of products or services end to end, and negotiated complex contracts. You will have a can-do attitude and be from any category background. You will be looking for a rolewhere you can share your knowledge with the team, take ownership of your category areas, and experienced in liaising and presenting to Heads of Function. Working in a Financial Services environment is desirable.You will be educated to A-level standard as a minimum or have a relevant professional qualification (MCIPS). Its essential you can develop effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and with supplier organisations. We will expect you to be ableto communicate effectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills and be confident delivering change through relevant projects and initiatives.The closing date for applications is 11th November 2022
