Job Description

As an integral member of the HR team, the post holder will take responsibility for HR administration within their respective Academies, undertaking duties across a range of HR activities including: recruitment and selection to include handling all administration relating to holding assessment events and onboarding; liaising with Payroll and using Resourcelink; and data management and reporting including sickness absence tracking.Responsibilities will include ensuring HR documentation and processes are compliant with regulations and internal policies and procedures, particularly with regard to safer recruiting, and you will be expected to give first level advice regarding these.To maintain regular and effective communications with a wide range of academy and central team colleagues maintaining appropriate confidentiality at all times. You will provide effective, accurate and efficient HR admin support to the HR Business Partner, Headteachers and the Central HR Team. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES STAFF

  • To provide advice and guidance for academy based employees and line managers on HR procedures, practices and policies.
  • RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
  • With the exception of leadership recruitment, to co-ordinate part of the recruitment process to include: preparing the recruitment requisition; posting internal adverts within academies; receiving applications and preparing for the Shortlisting panel; seeking references; other pre-employment checks; arranging selection events and activities; informing the Central HR Team of the offer details; notifying payroll; compiling new starter documents; creating a pfile; adding new employees details to the SCR; co-ordinating onboarding activities for new starters; arranging IT logins.
  • Liaising with applicants (using the applicant management system), ensuring that throughout the recruitment process applicants receive a high quality experience.
  • Handle the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers and Trainee Teachers. DATA MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING For the employees you are assigned:
  • To process leaving employees, to include: seeking a written resignation; confirming the leaving details in writing; notifying payroll; amending the SCR; notifying Praestantia; retrieving Trust property; in liaison with the HR Business Partner, arrange an exit interview
  • To notify Payroll of variations to contracts that affect pay, and forward details to the Central HR Team for a variation to contract letter to be completed
  • To process the administration relating to flexible working requests, parental leave and other leave requests
  • Processing claims for additional hours, sickness absence, unpaid leave etc
  • To carry out the school workforce census annual return
  • To administer absence reporting and recording processes, ensuring that all absence is reported, recorded and followed up in accordance with the appropriate Trust policies and procedures
  • To produce and analyse absence reports, on behalf of the Academies you are assigned to, termly and as required
  • To co-ordinate the performance management process, of Teachers and nonteaching staff in the academies to which you are assigned, ensuring that managers complete performance management meetings and paperwork on time
  • In liaison with the HR Business Partner, assist with the administration and organization associated with handing disciplinary and grievance hearings
  • HR TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To work in collaboration with the Trust HR team as appropriate.
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with Leaderships teams
  • To cover for absent colleagues
  • To be willing to travel to any academy within the Trust as required
