Job Description

Head of Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality - SHEQ, Salary: c£65k + Car and Benefits package, Preferably midlands based - extensive UK travel.We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Head of Health & Safety, Environmental Quality / Head of SHEQ to work for a leading modular construction and hire business. This position would suit a Head of Health & Safety, Environmental Quality / Head of SHEQ from a construction / plant hire / heavy industry or crane type background.Head of HSEQ - The role:

  • Working with Regional Managing Directors and Function Heads to drive up the standards of EHS performance within the business by taking a strategic lead role.
  • Build effective and lasting relationships with key customers. Manage a Team of SHEQ Professionals (Direct reports; Regional SHEQ Managers, Operational Trainers, SHEQ Coordinator) who provide direct support to the line management throughout company, including the depots across the UK and also the construction and customer site operations.
  • Champion all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability across the business with a view to develop and embed a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
    • The hire side of the business is set up through a national depot network to supply Portable cabins, Secure Storage Solutions, Modular buildings and associated products to customer sites. The depot operation stores and prepares the units ready for hire or sale, refurbishing and modifying as required, prior to delivery and installation on site. The modular construction side of the business has a manufacturing facility that produces the units which are then constructed as permanent buildings on client site.Candidate requirements:
  • Experience in construction / plant hire / heavy industry or crane
  • Experience as a Head of Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality / HSEQ for a multiple site organisation
  • Track record of building motivated multidiscipline teams able to deliver tangible improvements to the business.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent as a minimum
  • Environmental qualification - required
  • Appointed Person / Slinger Banksman experience
  • Experience of ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 systems
  • Training and presentation experience
