Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKNewman Landscapes, one of the leading Ground Maintenance firms in the Midlands, is seeking a Ground Care Machinery Technician. We specialise in a range of services, including site clearance, invasive species, arboriculture, and landscaping.We are proud to invest in our staff and develop them through the company so if you are looking to join a business that you can progress in, this is the one for you.About the role:You will be at the heart of Newmans servicing, mending and keeping your workshop tidy.You will be working closely with the Operation Manager who will issue the projects scheduled for completion.You will need to be skilled in vehicles as well as ground care machinery and agricultural machinery.Key responsibilities:
  • Complete all H&S and risk assessments for each machine
  • Order parts and be able to fix all types of machines
  • Use a computer to fill out all paperwork
  • High standards of welding and fitting when carrying out repairs
Hours and salary:The initial contract period will be 12 months and will be re-evaluated at your annual appraisal. There is the potential for this to be a longer-term position.You will work 40 hours per week, 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Exceptional circumstances may require extra working hours on a Saturday, or after hour on weekdays, are needed. These will be paid at the standard overtime rates.You will earn £12 - £15 depending on experience.Qualifications and skills:
  • A full driving license is essential
  • An automotive/mechanical engineering/technical background of any sort will provide you with the skills and expertise to hit the ground running
  • Previous Agricultural experience would be advantageous
  • Experience with Hydraulics would be beneficial
  • Must have the ability to self-motivate and work individually, managing your own workload and also able to work as part of a team
