Job Description

You will drive continuous improvement in all areas and where risks are identified work to resolve or mitigate these while ensuring that escalation routes are followed. You will be a key point of contact for other areas of finance and other teams across thebusiness and will collaborate broadly to achieve shared goals.Client DetailsFinancial Services business based in the Midlands.DescriptionYour responsibilities will include:

  • Managing month end reporting including review of journals and oversight of the group consolidation
  • Managing external reporting including Annual Report and Interim Financial Statements
  • Oversight of transformation and improvements as they apply to Financial Reporting
  • Application of technical accounting judgement, preparation of technical accounting papers for Board Audit Committee
  • Oversight or preparation of accounting entries for key accounting areas for the Group
  • Preparation of financial statements for the group
  • Ownership of the groups accounting policies
  • Main point of contact for external auditors
  • Representing finance on cross Society projects
  • Managing and developing a team
  • Inputting into the future strategy and development of the Reporting function.
ProfileYou will be or have:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with strong post qualification experience
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel.
  • Experience of using Oracle, Workday, COGNOS advantageous.
  • People management and leadership experience.
  • Experience working in financial services would be advantageous.
  • Strong experience of IFRS accounting standards, IFRS 9 and IAS 39 advantageous but not essential for a strong candidate.
