Finance Officer to work on the Coventry Business Park - a key role within the business, responsible for completing all financial transactions within the system and maintaining the accuracy of our financial data and records. The responsibilities of the role extend across multiple subsidiary companies, both trading and holding companies. The role sits within a finance team, currently 3 people, and reports to the Finance Director. The role requires proven finance experience and relevant qualifications and very importantly a positive outlook on continuous improvement and change: The businesshas grown significantly in the last few years and the ambition to continue this growth means that all roles continue to evolve to unlock the opportunities available to us. In addition, this role involves handling and safeguarding sensitive and confidentialinformation so an understanding of how such data should be shared and stored is critical. Daily duties: - Post all supplier invoices on a timely basis, ensuring accuracy of nominal accounts and cost centres. - Maintain payment terms for all suppliers to ensure accurate ageing and payment processing. - Maintain all other analysis fields including payment groups, default nominals, approvers etc. - Process employee expense claims. - Generate and amend payment runs for all payment groups. - Reconcile supplier accounts monthly for key suppliers and periodically for other suppliers. - Prepare weekly credit control reports, analysing overdue and imminently due invoices. - Complete credit control actions as required, this includes telephoning customers to resolve overdue debtors or queries, sending reminders, letters, statements for outstanding balances. Some journal, bank reconciliations and VAT returns will be part of the role for the right person. Ideally you will have the following experience: A recognized accounting or bookkeeping qualification and an excellent understanding of monthly accounting procedures and double entry (essential) Advanced and proven excel skills (essential) Experience of using and interrogating financial systems. A knowledge of Sage 200 (advantageous but not essential) Fantastic attention to detail A proactive, open-minded approach to be able to support a growing business A flexible attitude (essential).
