Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a market leading organisation based near Coventry. In the role of Finance Manager you will support in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, weekly flash reports, revenue, costs and marginanalysis. You will be responsible for providing information to the Financial Controller, Managing Director and provide the link between the on-site operational management, account management and finance functions.Responsibilities:

  • Provide Financial support to the Financial Controller
  • Assist in the production of revenue and cost of sales accruals schedules.
  • Assist in Revenue Protection of all key customers.
  • Providing support to the local operational teams in all activity across each of the trading account.
  • Produce variable costs analysis for the business to ensure within budget and to ensure the profitability of each site
  • Create billing customer reconciliation, together with carrier and transport costs.
  • Investigate variances/identifying causes and taking appropriate action to address.
  • Produce Agency reconciliations versus number of agency staff used for each customer and activity.
  • Purchase Order creation and approvals
  • Costs and revenue to be compared and analysed to show margins for all customers on a local level which can be grouped according to the service provided.
  • Customer reviews on the key accounts and provide efficiency analyse aligned to volume forecasts in line with revenue expectations.
  • Design site reporting and work with the businesses to ensure reports reflect accurately against revenue especially targeting month end reporting.
  • Design flash to monitor revenues on an agreed timescale. i.e. weekly, monthly or quarterly.
  • Ensure the quality of costs and revenue data are a true comparison and consider rebates/credits as required together with any other factors outlining correct assumption when making overview reporting.
Requirements:
  • A quality Degree level of education or equivalent
  • To acquire the above skills we would estimate that it would typically take around 3 to 5 years total accounting experience in a similar analytical role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial procedures and Management Accounts, with experience of sales, purchase and general ledgers, accruals and prepayments.
  • Good knowledge of financial accounting systems/Billing systems e.g. Navision
  • Highly I.T Literate, with advanced MS Office skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Advanced Excel functions e.g. pivot and lookup tables and experience of creating financial models
  • Good attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in figure work
  • Confidence to question or challenge data or processes
  • Analytical skills - able to investigate and analyse data, identify trends and anomalies and help to determine their cause
  • Dynamic Self Motivated- able to work with minimal supervision, & to turn work around quickly, whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Able to plan & prioritise own work load to meet conflicting, varied and demanding deadlines
  • Business focused, can liaise well with the Sales and business management
  • A commitment to continual professional development
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Produce short reports and analyses on a subject which both fellow finance professionals and business management can understand.
