Job Description

About The RoleWe are the second largest Building Society in the UK and the 6th largest lender and we are proud to be officially certified as a Great Place to Work.Were recruiting a Finance Business Partner to support Cost Management and Efficiency across the Society cost base. This is a new and exciting role within our Cost Management team (part of Finance Performance and Planning), which actively engages with theSocietys business functions to provide commercial finance expertise and insight adding value to our business.Youll be joining at an exciting time within the Finance function which is at the beginning of a three year transformation programme aimed at improving our ability to service the business in the future. You will have the opportunity to get involved and helpshape the future Financial Operating Model that will support both Finance and the Business.Youll be a key contributor to driving value add analyses, improve our processes and controls, and supporting wider teams across the Society in generating actionable insight and analysis.Youll be a key driver in the forecasting and planning process, engaging non finance teams to agree approach and providing constant challenge to the key cost drivers ensuring that they remain relevant to the Societys corporate agenda for tomorrow, whistincorporating strong cost management techniques.As part of the role youll:

  • Develop, run and maintain accurate and robust forecast and planning models and reporting. Supporting the production of insightful commentary and analysis for Senior Finance Managers, Business Stakeholders and Board and be integral to the production of materialswhich will help support key business decisions.
  • Youll maintain business models and ready reckoners to support the Business Partnering and Cost teams to become more agile in understanding the impact of key project deliverables and their impact on both Financial and Non-Financial Performance.
  • Youll be used to preparing detailed analysis and communicating results to both financial and Non-Financial stakeholders in a simple and straight forward way. Youll have advanced excel skills and enjoy working with others to solve complex challenges.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, driving process efficiencies, including automation, standardisation and self-service provision. Take ownership of issues to resolution, acting as centre of excellence.
  • Act within the Society Risk Management and Regulatory Frameworks.
  • Develop effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and use your influence to ensure successful outcomes in relation to cost management and any issues or risks.
About YouYoull be a newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and youll have gained experience in Business Partnering, preferably within Financial Services. You have experience of working with / supporting both Planning and Forecasting with some exposure to commercialbusiness case evaluation.Youll be intellectual curious and want to understand how your role activity fits and adds value in the context of Finance and the wider Society as a whole. Youll continually look for opportunities to develop and look to step outside of the confines of yourrole in the support of colleagues and the Society. Youll engage honestly and constructively with your colleagues across the business to deliver great outcomes and ultimately cultivate an environment of collaboration, innovation and idea sharing.Youll demonstrate a responsible and caring attitude by getting things done, getting things right and achieving this in the right way.Youll demonstrate your capabilities through planning and organising and use of your excellent analytical ability to translate complex analysis into useable insight and clear recommendations in easy to follow speak.
