Job Description

Engineering Manager, Developer Background, Service Delivery Manager, Mainly RemoteEngineering Manager required to work for a well-known retail company based in Coventry, West Midlands. However, due to Covid-19, this will be only based in the office once a month!This company is currently doing some really exciting stuff where you can really make a name for yourself in here. To top it off, you will even get staff discount!As Engineering Manager, you will use your engineering expertise to lead a multi skilled engineering team. You will be empowered to enable the delivery of solutions to create value, drive efficiency and increase performance for our business.We dont need someone who is hands on but we do need someone in a Technical Leadership role. We could even look for a Service Delivery Manager who maybe had a Development background. Alternative to that, we are ideally looking at ex-Developers who have movedinto a Tech Management / Leadership kind of role. Read on for more details...Responsibilities:

  • You will recruit diverse teams who are both exceptionally talented and fit the culture of the business
  • Mentoring and coaching colleagues within your team using your expertise as an engineer
  • Help shape a world class engineering function by bringing your experience of cutting edge processes and technologies into the business
  • Ensure your team possesses and develops the right skills by deeply understanding the requirements of the product you are building.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineers to define the vision and technical direction
  • Encourage and facilitate communities of practice to ensure we share best practice across the engineering teams
  • Work with the Agile and Team Coaches to advocate and embed Agile/lean delivery methodologies
  • Responsible for managing and delivering against initiative level budgets, working closely with Product to do this
Skills required:
  • You will be an engineer with a passion for leading and coaching teams of engineers, building a culture to bring out the best in your teams by inspiring them and developing strong relationships
  • Youll be self-driven and constantly striving to improve your teams, focusing on continuous development
  • IT Development background
