Job Description

Do you have powertrain development or testing experience, and are you seeking a new job in Coventry Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping theworlds largest independent company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains recruit anElectrified Powertrain Development Engineer, and the role comes with a salary of up to £45,000 p.a.and excellent benefits.As an Electrified Powertrain Development Engineer, you will join the team with the primary objective of working closely with our customers to develop, test and optimise the performance of their electrified powertrain for future vehicle programs. You willalso take ownership of planning and executing test work primarily on developmental rigs, providing clear and concise data analysis and reporting/recommendations to customer teams (focused but not limited to EDU, Electric Motor, Power Electronics)To give you an idea of how this Electrified Powertrain Development Engineer role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Be responsible for the testing campaign from requirement definition to data analysis and reporting
  • Supervise the testing facility set-up, to ensure the Rig and Unit Under Test requirements
  • On-site support at customer or other facilities as appropriate to monitor and ensure good delivery of testing
  • Timely data processing and data analysis that will be used to make engineering decisions
  • Provide daily summary updates on project and testing status to all project stakeholders.
To apply for this Electrified Powertrain Development Engineer role, you will need a minimum of 2-1 Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, etc). You will also require the following:
  • Experience in powertrain development or testing
  • Electric Drive Unit experience and knowledge
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to summarise and make clear technical recommendations across multifunctional disciplines with supporting data
  • The ability to work with high level instruction, minimal detail breakdown and to be able to seek out relevant information, data and support from other engineering groups.
