Job Description

We are currently working with an innovative, family-run SME who are actively seeking a Deputy Warehouse Manager to join their team based at their Coventry warehouse. To enable our client to achieve their growth plans the deputy warehousemanager will also take on an overseeing role at a partner 3PL warehousing site in Birmingham. This will incur some physical travel between the 2 locations to ensure that the 3PL has the necessary "on the ground" support and guidance to achieve agreed SLA targets.Key duties and responsibilities...

  • Oversee the supervision of daily activities of the Coventry warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Schedule and oversee Coventry warehouse team to meet the demands of the warehouse and manage the flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimize overtime.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed (Coventry warehouse)
  • Meet regularly with the Coventry warehouse team and external partners to review, analyse, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention.
  • To ensure that the 3PL conforms to the agreed SLA / KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Assist the 3PL where necessary to ensure that an excellent, professional relationship is maintained and developed
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a warehouse manager/supervisor or similar
  • Experience working for or with 3PL operations is highly desirable
  • Strong man management capabilities
  • Experienced in developing/shaping teams
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures and policies
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff.
  • Comfortable delivering frequent feedback.
  • Track record of continuous improvements
  • Experience of disciplinary processes
  • Experience in implementation of standard operating procedures (S.O.Ps)
Working hours: 11am - 8pm Monday to FridayBenefits
  • Salary circa £35,000 per annum DOE
