About The RoleWe have a great opportunity for aData Governance Analyst to join us here at Coventry Building Society during this time of growth and change. We are looking for someone who canactively contribute to the Society’s data management, governance and control framework- to govern data in a compliant, effective and risk-based approach. The role is to also develop a detailed knowledge of departmental risks and control methodologies, ensuring these are monitored and in a timely and effective manner.As our Data Governance Analyst – some key accountability will include:- Working closely with business areas to maintain and continuously improve our enterprise data assets through data catalogues, data stewardship and data quality management- Supporting continuous improvement through process optimisation and engagement with corporate projects.- Meeting with stakeholders to understand the wider business need for data and provide business definitions that ensure data can be consistently and appropriately used across the Society.About YouWorking as our Data Governance Analyst, you’ll be reporting directly to theSenior MI & Data Practice Manager. Youll be an experienced data user, used to working with large volumes of data and have an eye fordetail. Youll also be able to track data lineage, highlight problems, and understand how data is authored and used in the context of business processes.Youll be or have:- Experience in Data Analysis across a range of sources (e.g. relational and dimensional databases, file systems, semi-structured and unstructured data, models, spreadsheets)- Understanding of data governance and data quality management- Familiarity with business analysis and process modelling- Awareness of data modelling and data warehouse methodologies, with Risk Management- Strong Stakeholder engagement skills, management and collaboration with an ability to question and challenge, put forward new ideas and gain buy in through key working relationships.- Experienced in using SQL- An advanced user of Microsoft Office suite- Experience in Data catalogues/metadata management solutions (e.g. Collibra)- preferred but not essentialThe closing date for applications is 25th March 2021
