Ref: 38534Title: Component and Systems Hardware EngineerDivision: Engineering OperationsContract Position based at: WhitleyRate:up to £32.78/hr LTD umbrellaPosition Description: Supervisor supporting EO10022 test/ preparation which includes supporting the test delivery team in preparing unit under tests in our central spine operations. Ensuring right first time rigging onto internal combustion engines, Electronic Drive Units (EDU)and full powertrain in the loop (PiL) commodities. The role also covers support of the planning of our fabrication and machine shops. Ability to work on own initiative to manage supplier and internal departments to meet Unit Under Test delivery dates intothe test facility. The Rotating Machine Test Delivery team is part of Powertrain Test Operations and Engineering Operations. The team maintains productive workflow from the ICE EDU Test facility and delivers test capability to the Powertrain Engineering andCertification teams. The delivery of testing using complex emission measurement instruments is required to drive the design and optimization of control technology to meet required vehicle targets. Our function is to support the customer teams from Powertrainand Engineering in their objective of achieving `timely, quality product release.Skills Required: Level 4 qualification Science or Engineering discipline. Evidence of Leadership and Management of large team 20+. Background in quality standards and audit processes.Skills Preferred: Ideally educated to Degree level in a Science or Engineering discipline. A qualification or background in Leadership and Management Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification. Knowledge of vehicle emissions testing. Skills in fault resolution and root-causeidentification are crucial, as is a methodical, logical approach to work. Experience of Instrumentation calibration processes. Previous experience of leading a team, the implementation of lean tools and processes.Experience Required: Proven ability to plan effectively and achieve quality results. Natural problem-solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment. Detailed knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements, including RiskAssessment, COSHH and MSDS. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and SPL documents. Experience in the manufacturing/testing environment, with a knowledge of measurement technology and facilityrequirements Robust clear communicator with excellent organisational skills that can manage concurrent activities.
