Job Description

(12 months Fixed Term Contract)As a Communications Business Partner at Unipart you will develop and deliver outcome focussed communications plans that support business goals and change projects within your sector, ensuring alignment with Divisional and Group communication campaigns.You will share and uphold both communications and employee engagement best practice and ensure our internal communications principles are maintained: tell our colleagues first, be consistent with our messages, think about the audience and make sure communicationsare two way.Communications Business Partner Responsibilities:As part of your key responsibilities youll support the BU (business unit) director and senior management to deliver effective internal communications into all of their sites by:

  • developing BU communications plans and key messages, aligned to the BU aims and objectives (outlined in PDM)
  • establishing a drumbeat of regular communication and engagement activities across all areas of the BU including leadership events, town halls and listening events.
  • customising group and divisional communications campaigns / content to ensure they are relevant to the BU audiences, whilst ensuring a consistent message
  • evaluating and measuring communication channels and activity to assess effectiveness of engagement activity and how messages have been received across the BU
  • developing a network of communications champions to identify and tell the stories that demonstrate we do what we say and improve two way feedback mechanisms to continually improve communications
  • coaching and supporting leaders across the BU to develop their capability and confidence to deliver communications to teams
  • working closely with the BU Director to increase visibility and build their brand
  • developing and delivering communication plans for any major change projects within the BU
You will also support the BU director and senior management with external communications, liaising with the customer as required to:
  • Develop engaging and relevant multi-media content across external channels, including social media.
  • Develop local and trade media articles as required
Communications Business Partner Requirements:Wed love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think youd be able to perform well in this role!Essential:
  • Relevant experience as a corporate communications or internal communications professional, ideally within a logistics and manufacturing environment
  • Experience delivering change communications programmes with a self-starter mind-set
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience of managing the delivery of communication/engagement programmes with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of working across internal and external communications in a holistic ways
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills. In particular, the ability to write clearly and tailor a consistent message to target audiences
  • Content creation expertise (i.e. newsletters, email, visual/video content etc.)
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines in a client services environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Able to provide and receive complex information, and present the insights in meaningful ways
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
  • Energy and passion to push the programme forward with a focus on flawless implementation
  • Flexible and able to deal with a fast-paced environment
  • Full UK driving license (must be willing to undertake some travel to certain Unipart sites)
