Job Description

Orbit have fantastic new roles in our expanding Procurement team. We are looking to recruit 2 Category Managers within FM, Works and Capital due to significant growth in the last 12 months. Our beliefin people and what they can achieve.Your role at Orbit.We are looking for experienced Category Managers to join our business and be able to support, influence and contribute to overall strategic direction and operational performance of Orbit. Your key duties and responsibilities will be to:

  • Work in partnership and establish cross-functional teams leading on defined procurement projects
  • Deliver against operational targets in respect of procurement and contract management requirements
  • Apply progressive methodology for designated procurement expenditure categories
  • Enable commercially astute outputs with contracts and agreements
  • Be responsible for all procurement activity in your defined and allocated pipeline
  • Work with stakeholders to achieve effective and efficient operational delivery
  • Take the lead on commercially complex situations
  • Lead on proactive analysis of designated spend categories
  • Apply a standard approach for developing and continuously reviewing category specific strategy plans, quotation and tender processes and reporting at award stage
  • Work with commercial team to harvest and analyse spend data, trends and demands
  • Support mobilisation and de-mobilisation of contracts
  • Support the development of the Procurement Officers
  • Establish and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders
What will help you make a difference.To be successful in this role of Category Manager you will need to have previous experience at a similar level, it would also be ideal if you have previous experience working for a public sector organisation.It is essential that you have:
  • Experience of procurement category management including upstream procurement strategy and downstream contract implementation
  • Experience of managing contracts and delivering improved supplier performance
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement law, specifically public procurement
  • Skill in tender and contract drafting
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • KPI development and monitoring
  • Supplier and spend analysis capability
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
