Purpose:The Buyer is responsible for supporting with the development and implementation of their commodity/supply chain strategy throughout SJE. This role will aid with the complete range of strategic and new product introduction sourcing activities, includingpurchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Key Responsibilities: Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targetsNegotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and investigate opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and purchasing best practice tools and methods.Facilitate between suppliers and other UPA departments on new projects and activitiesMonitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisationProvide supplier spend analysis and costs for new and existing activitiesPrepare reports and updates as requiredWork with others in the purchasing function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.Raise and manage business system data such as new supplier set up, contracts, purchase orders etc.Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships in a professional and consistent mannerCompile departmental KPI data and supplier performance to enable evaluationAssess and evaluate suppliers and support performance reviews.Fully embrace the tools and techniques utilised through the Unipart WayAdhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeingof self, staff, and visitorsAll employees have a duty of care to follow / adhere to all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures, processes, and challenge unsafe acts & behaviours".Report all incidents, hazards, near misses to minimise / eliminate the risk of potential further incidents occurring.Organisational StructureLimits of AuthorityReporting toGeneral ManagerResponsible for Direct ReportsN/ARelationshipsEstablish good working relationships and partnerships with:
