Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we are looking to recruit Trainee Biomedical Scientist to support the Virology & Molecular Pathology (VAMP) service. The department provides both viral serology and multidisciplinary molecular services. Working with our University partnerships we have also been fortunate to create a specific Covid-19 test facility, based at the Univeristy Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire site, which includes a range of both high-throughput and rapid molecular assays.Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Service (CWPS) is an established network, currently in the process of developing a blood sciences hub and spoke model of care. VAMP is part of this transformation and as such, staff will need to rotate across sites and be required to participate in the 24/7 shift service. Specialist molecular testing will primarily be located at UHCW; whilst routine serology will be based on the hub site at George Eliot Hospital. Following a successful tender process, equipment will be updated on each of the sites within the next 12 months.Successful candidates will be both patient and quality focused, innovative and professionally motivated, to help promote and progress CWPS services. They must be confident and adaptive with the ongoing changes and willing to work flexibly within a demanding, yet rewarding environment..For further details / informal visits contact:NameTina WotherspoonJob titleCWPS Virology & Molecular Pathology Network ManagerEmail addressTina.Wotherspoon@uhcw.nhs.ukTelephone numberAdditional contact informationIf shortlisted, candidates may view the laboratory prior to interview, please contact to arrangeAlternative contact: Ranveer ChavenRanveer.Chaven@uhcw.nhs.uk
