Job Description

Job Title: Mental Health Occupational TherapistGrade: Band 6Trust: Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS TrustLocation: Swanswell point, 2 Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, CV1 4FSEnd Date: 8th February 2024 (subject to review, change, and extension)Hours: Up to 37.5/week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00, Part time can be consideredPay rate: £21.80Would you like to be part of a team whose core purpose is to make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of people and communities who need our services. Are you highly motivated and committed with excellent attention to detail and strong communicationIf so, Coventry & Warwickshire are looking to recruit an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced Occupational Therapist to join their team.The postholder will be required toprovide OT assessments, discharge planning recommendations, and short-term OT interventions, and also provide professional supervision and support for the Activity Staff on the ward. They must be able to provide a varietyof evidence based mental health occupational therapy assessments, contribute to MDT formulation of need and risk management; and directly and indirectly provide occupational interventions.The post holder will be required to support the services need for flexibility to deliver optimal patient care and must be able to provide a variety of evidence based mental health occupational therapy assessments, contribute to MDT formulation of need andrisk management; and directly and indirectly provide occupational interventions. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills and able to organise and manage their own workload and will be required to undertake delegated responsibilities asand where appropriate.The Postholder Will:

  • Ensure Occupational Therapy makes a significant and specialist contribution in the community mental health service.
  • Complete specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions with adults with complex mental health presentations (non-psychosis)
  • Deliver specific interventions in line with the treatment pathway, including complex clients.
  • Deliver professional evidence-based OT assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation of service users’ needs.
  • Manage and organise competing and conflicting priorities and manage change in complex situations.
  • Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of effective occupational therapy service delivery
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs
  • Work in partnership with service users in developing their care plan.
Essential Requirements:
  • HCPC registration
  • OT Professional Qualification
  • Substantial OT experience in Acute Mental health care setting
  • Community Mental Health experience
  • Experience with OT Assessment tools
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Driving license and access to car
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:
  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable
