Job Description

Assistant Director, Infrastructure and Structured Real Estate Finance, Portfolio Management Closing date :05/06/2023A bit about the role...This is a senior leadership role in an established Portfolio Management function, working directly with the Director of Portfolio Management, the Assistant Director, Development Finance and Heads of teams. The role is a national role, leading our two Infrastructure and Structured Real Estate Finance, Portfolio Management teams, consisting of circa 15 staff in several offices across England. The team manages a contracted loan book of >£2.5bn, originated acrossseveral Funds, including the Home Building Fund - Long Term Fund, the Home Building Fund - Short-Term Fund, the Levelling Up Home Building Fund and the Home Building Fund, Infrastructure Loans, plus others. Working in a team with the Director of Portfolio Management, the Assistant Director Development Finance and Heads, the Assistant Director, Infrastructure and Real Estate Finance will be joining our highly skilled team of property / lending professionals, whomanage the Agency’s Recoverable loan book, dedicated to supporting either the delivery of key infrastructure schemes to unlock sites for housebuilding to commence, or to providing direct development finance for homes for people to live in.Our team of Portfolio Managers manage a portfolio of loans from first draw down through to repayment, liaising and working alongside their Borrowers and key Partners such as Solicitors, Valuers and IMS firms to ensure delivery of homes.The Assistant Director, Infrastructure and Real Estate Finance will support their people through strong leadership, including successfully managing delivery, credit and reputational risk. The role requires a high degree of technical and credit risk skills,working on some of the Agency’s larger and more complex loan commitments. This is a key strategic role within the Investments Directorate. It will lead a team of Portfolio Managers focussed on supporting the delivery of homes. Working alongside other senior stakeholders, it will contribute to our risk governance, reporting & processesand devising strategies at a portfolio level aimed at supporting our Borrowers in a deteriorating market to ensure delivery, whilst maintaining fiscal recovery and protecting the Agency’s reputation.A bit about you…Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.Youll be comfortable leading your team with their role in portfolio managing a portfolio of loans, where our loan structuring includes cashflow lending’. You will be proficient in providing leadership to the Heads and their teams in the identification, mitigation and management of risk within the loan book and in reacting to market headwinds. You will coach your leaders and your team in how they manage their loans and in maintaining a strong relationship with their Borrowers. Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy.
