Job Description

The Assistant Banking Operations Manager in Coventry will be responsible for the management of the bank ledger, ensuring bank transactions are recorded accurately and timely, including resolution of issues and queries and account reconciliation.Client DetailsThis leading Not for Profit and Charities sector business in Coventry offer a superb diverse service to its customers internationally and can offer a fantastic stable employment with scope for process improvement to support in developing the service.DescriptionThe Assistant Banking Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for supervising a team of Finance Assistants
  • Taking the lead on ensuring the banking function and processes are efficient, robust and have appropriate controls.
  • Support with the implementation of and compliance with the Treasury and Investment Management Policy.
  • Take ownership for organising and planning key team activities to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timely processing of all banking and online transactions for the bank accounts in accordance with month and year end timetables.
  • Responsible for streamlining company wide banking processes and lower costs by assessing banking products, service products, service providers and systems.
  • Group cash forecasting process ensuring the timely preparation of monthly & yearly cash forecasts.
  • Ensure all bank accounts, petty cash/cash floats and unidentified income are reconciled and reviewed monthly.
  • Responsible for ensuring all cash is banked appropriately. Setting up system access for new cashiers as and when required.
  • Daily download of the University bank statement, identifying the income and expenditure categories for the daily cashflow monitoring report.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly intercompany bank transfers using various systems.
  • Complete the treasury month end process including balance sheet reconciliations and all month-end accruals/prepayments and journals.
  • To take ownership of monthly review of unmatched cashbook entries and ensuring all unidentified items are allocated correctly and timely.
  • Ownership of new banking queries, ensuring that they are resolved promptly by liaising with the relevant internal parties where necessary.
  • Coordinate the production of regular performance reporting for the team including key performance indicators as well as progress towards improvement initiatives. Attaining buy-in from the team for their collective performance and to use measures to continuallyimprove the quality of the service provided.
  • To recognise and understand the impact of work-related problems arising, being aware of any recurring trends and raising concerns where necessary to ensure appropriate resolution of customer/supplier enquiries or issues.
  • To act as subject matter expert for the team and input to systems development being responsible for defining business requirements and for completing User Acceptance Testing following any change impacting the team.
ProfileTo be considered for this Assistant Banking Operations Manager role you will have worked within a treasury, accounting or finance role with exposure to banking operations, bank reconciliations or detailed banking related duties. You will be highly accurate,numerate and able to garner strong working relationships with colleagues, team members and stakeholders of all levels.
