Job Description

VoIP, PBX, SIP Flow, Wireshark, Network, ADSL/FTTC/FTTP/Leased Line, 2nd-Line, Technical Support, Telecommunications, Cloud, Hosted PBX, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, tcpdumpChapman Tate Associates seeks a 2nd-Line Technical Support Engineer (VOIP, Telephony based)to join this established Software Vendor of UC and PBX based Telecoms based products. This is a brand new role that will be an extra head to their ever-growing Technical Support Team in Coventry City Centre.This role will suit someone that has come from a strong Telecomms background that has administered VoIP based products around SIP Trunking and SIP Flow analysis.The role will include the following tasks and duties:

  • Logging customer queries and requests by telephone and email.
  • Analysing SIP Traces so you can spot common trends and resolve faults
  • Where necessary, escalate issues or liaise with third parties
  • Working with customers to identify and diagnose hardware device, software application, system, and/or network problems and advising on the solution
  • Logging and keeping records of customer issues and solutions
  • Responding to our Moves, Adds and Changes requests where required in a timely manner
  • Configuring Hunt Groups, Auto Attendants, Subscribers, Call Centres and other features
  • Testing and implementing fault solutions for customers
  • Outstanding problem solving skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs and requirements. Must be able to establish effective internal and external customer relationships.
  • Must be able to plan work and schedule task and activities and manage them accordingly
  • Technically you will have experience in supporting the following:
  • Wireshark OR Etheral packet analyser support
  • Strong understanding of DSL products such as ADSL/FTTC/FTTP/Leased Line
  • Routing protocols (RIP, BGP, OSPF)
  • Configuration of switches and routers
  • Analysing SIP Traces and Flows
  • tcpdump admin and support
  • VLANs and trunking, Q-in-Q
  • TCP/IP, SIP, STP, DNS, DHCP
  • Linux OS
  • UK Drivers Licence
  • The following experience will be advantageous:·Knowledge / work experience with VoIP (Asterisk / Kamailio)·Experience in Automation testing·Knowledge of network technologies, OSI model, LDAP, DNS, DHCPMy client will provide training and continued career development.
