Are you a technically capable Software Developer that enjoys the challenge of supporting and developing predominately Windows based software products Do you revel in situations that require you to wear the many hats of software engineering, such as analysis,estimation, design, coding, reviews, bug fixing, deployment and testing in support of an enterprise software product Have you experience with interfacing with ICT teamsWe are looking for you and your ability to bring a methodical approach to the above. Team working is key and you will become a trusted member of a small software team that includes analysts, developers and testers and will add value to new and on-going projects.Key Tasks:Read and understand formal system requirementsSupport analysis of requirements and provision of poker point based estimates within teamDevelop Windows based software using enterprise patterns, practices & recognised methodologiesDesign, author and execute unit testsWork as assigned by the team leaderWork closely with the software architect, chief engineer and testing teamsSoftware engineering in support of the complete stack from User Interface through to database designClose interface with external providers of products to be integrated within the main productEssential Experience:Agile software development practices (primarily Scrum, Kanban, pair programming etc.)Software engineering skills on WindowsAn appreciation of development of enterprise applications using Visual Studio and its technologies including good knowledge of the C# programming languageGood knowledge of .NET Core, HTML5 and supporting technologiesUse of testing technologies such as Unit Testing, Test Driven Development , MOQ and MSTESTReading, understanding and interpreting software Design patterns & UML diagrams.Understanding of GIT or Team Foundation Services for configuration managementDesired Experience:Red Hat LinuxJAVAVBAGeospatial knowledgeCodeBeamerSQL Server database designSecure coding methodologiesPersonal Competencies:Willing to work as part of an integrated multi-technology teamAppreciation, acceptance and adherence to the constraints of working on highly classified defence platforms.Successful applicants will be required to obtain Developed Vetting security clearance as part of this role.The role is based in Wiltshire, but may involve occasional travel both within and outside of UKThe chance to work within a team that takes great pride in delivering the very best ICT Support in a role that really does make a difference.25 days holiday, with an option to buy an additional 5 days.Flexible working.
