Job Description

ROLE: Transport ManagerLOCATION: CorbyHOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday (Days)BASIC SALARY: £40K - £45K per annumCompany ProfileOur client is seeking a Transport Manager to join their organisation based in Corby on a permanent basis and will be responsible for the Transport operation from both a strategic leadership of the department but also the day to day, making best use of theteam and resources to ensure a safe, efficient and compliant delivery of expectations and all KPIs.In this Transport Manager role, you will be responsible for:

  • The post holder will be expected to adopt a "Safety First" mindset reflected across their team.
  • Monitor internal data and trends to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Customer experience in maintaining customer service excellence.
  • Drive innovation using latest trends and attending relevant exhibitions.
  • Ensure fleet is kept and maintained to a road worthy status.
  • To ensure Drivers working and driving hours are tracked and managed with no non-conformances.
  • Utilise vehicle telemetry to manage driver behaviours.
  • Strict cost control to budget and timely submittance aligned to business requirements.
  • To support site initiatives and collaborating with Site Management team.
  • To ensure all training is completed in a timely manner with adequate records retained.
  • Ensure all corrective actions are closed within the appropriate time period and to audit them for effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the fleet maintenance and retention of relevant associated documentation.
  • Coach team to develop and realise potential and ensure team are invested and valued.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Work closely with site Distribution team to ensure a smooth and efficient out loading operation.
  • Meet departmental objectives and goals and deliver results.
  • Ensure, by continuous assessment that compliance to Operating Procedures and relevant legislation takes place.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
To be successful as a Transport Manager you will have:
  • Understanding of CI tools and techniques. (Desirable)
  • The ability to analyse data and complete trend analysis.
  • Good IT skills in relation to all Microsoft packages.
  • CPC National Holder (minimum).
  • Experience of fleet responsibility.
  • Numerically astute and experience of budget responsibility.
  • Proven track record of KPI delivery.
  • Experienced in Nationwide UK multi-drop deliveries.
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques.
  • Most recent knowledge of all relevant Transport related legislation.
  • Experience of change management. (Desirable)
