Reed QSW are currently working with Northamptonshire council to recruit for Principal Social Worker/AMHP - Emergency Duty Team - NorthamptonThe EDT staff offer out of hours services to respond to referrals where council intervention is needed to protect a young person. These cases come to the council at evenings, overnight or at weekends, as it would not be safe to delay the referral until the next working day.Duty social workers will respond quickly to emergency calls, and will offer sound advice to those in need, as well as following up the referral to ensure the correct care is available to the young person. You should have AMHP status, a great awareness of child protection, mental health needs, and emergency care, and should be flexible with their working hours.Out of hours work is necessary due to the nature of the role, so EDT work would not suit a candidate looking for a 9-5 job. Ideal candidates will come from an EDT background, and will have worked within the young peoples service as an AMHP or EDT social worker for a number of years. Remote working options available in some teams:If remote working - laptop and phone to be collected from the office at the start of the assignmentIf office based - full Covid-19 protection measures are in place.
