Operational Excellence Lead CorbyDays£45,000We are looking for an Operational Excellence Lead (Opex) to join a market leading manufacturing company of carbon and ceramics advanced materials. The Operational Excellence Lead is a key role in the business unit. This role provides focused project leadershipfor operational systems and continuous improvement, business innovation and technology projects, with the aim of maximising profitability and business growth through improvements.The Opex Lead role is responsible for executing and co-ordinating a range of projects to deliver marginal cost saving. Driving process improvement via project management, reducing lead time, increasing capacity and thereby delivering strategic goal expectedcost savings from the goals of the business. Opex Lead will act as the project lead for agreed Projects and provide cross-functional conduit to ensure action items are completed accurately and on time to ensure project success. The Opex Lead has essentialfunctions on site: Project Management Execution, Continuous Improvement (CI) Training / Project Initiatives, identifying and sharing Best Practice, kaizen activities and developing a lean improvement culture via the Morgan Production System.With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team. The position will appeal to a strong professional looking for their next challengingrole within in a secure and stable company.Role DescriptionEstablish a formal project charter for each project, identifying clear SMART objectives, key team members, path of action to achieve desired goals and objectives, and strategy for execution.Monitor progress to assure compliance with leadership goals, site requirements, and minimizing risk to the site.Build relationships with the operations personnel on site and Divisional sites to identify waste in the factory, transactional processes, support improvements and charter new projects. Make site visits to support operational needs of the business where projectleadership expertise and guidance is required.Work with team members to establish procurement requirements, quotes / bids, and selecting reliable subcontractors / suppliers to provide products and services required in costing & delivering each project.Initiate & deliver training initiatives to support Lean culture, including 6S, 8 wastes identification and elimination, other MPS lean tools and lead local projects in support of the lean culture, in alignment with the goals set by the Opex Leadership team.Qualifications3 - 5 years of industrial experience within a manufacturing environment.Project management experience including management of multiple projects.Degree in Operations / Engineering / Material Science or other related fields.Experience of managing multi-site projects.Lean manufacturing experience in a technical environment.Manufacturing systems and Continuous Improvement mindsetFormal Lean and/or Six Sigma training preferable or a willingness to undergo suitable trainingStrategic business acumen, financial project management diversity, and planning abilityIf you feel this is of interest, please send your CV directly to Cameron Stevens at or call for a confidential discussion on .
