Job Description

ROLE: Machine Operator LOCATION: CorbyHOURS OF WORK: 0600 - 1430 (Fixed AM shift) BASIC SALARY: £12.60 fixed AM shift Company ProfileOur client is seeking a Machine Operator to join their organisation based in Corby on a permanent basis.In this Machine Operator role, you will be responsible for:

  • Inspect product visually and dimensionally as they are being produced on assigned machines for conformity to specifications.
  • Must learn in-process and last piece inspection and completes all required inspection forms.
  • Prior to a new setup, the skilled Operator can remove all tools from the previous job, ready for the tool specialist to inspect and evaluate tooling condition.
  • Locate, move, load, and feed new coils of material for machines as required.
  • Empty scrap containers as required into proper receptacles.
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Undertake machine checks before and after shift
  • Check and verify work order and product drawing for each job
  • Perform all operational maintenance on assigned machines in accordance with operation maintenance procedures.
  • Perform basic setups on assigned machines and verify conformance to product quality specifications and workmanship standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement by taking the initiative to identify issues and provide solutions with the goal of reducing cost and improving performance.
  • Perform all other work as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Minimize waste and conserve energy through reuse, recycling, and following Environmental Management System practices.
  • Accurately reports production, scrap and material consumption per departmental procedures.
In order to be successful as a Machine Operator you must:
  • Have experience within a similar role and environment
  • Be flexible to work any additional hours required
  • Have a general interest in engineering
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude
